It is designed to relieve muscle tension and promote relaxation through manipulation of the soft tissue with techniques including smooth, gliding strokes, kneading and friction. Although the principal goal of Swedish Massage is relaxation, it can also be hugely beneficial for improving circulation, increasing range of motion, breaking up knots or scar tissue and alleviating emotional stress.
